Licence terms for Offline Quillar
1. Who this is between
Scribers (“we”) and you, the person who requested a licence key. By entering the key into Offline Quillar you accept these terms.
2. What you may do
- Install and use Offline Quillar on up to three computers that you use yourself, activated with your key.
- Use it for any purpose — study, teaching, writing, work.
- Download and install every newer version we publish, free, using the link in your licence email.
3. What you may not do
- Share, sell or publish your key, or activate it on machines that are not yours.
- Extract the dictionary database from the app and redistribute it. The source dictionaries are the work of their publishers; Quillar's compilation is ours.
- Remove or work around the licence check.
4. Price
The licence is currently free of charge. If we start charging in future, keys already issued stay valid for the version they were issued for and every version released while they were free; we will not ask existing holders to pay for what they already have.
5. Your data
We store the name and email address you gave us, with your licence. When you activate, the app sends us your key, an anonymous machine fingerprint (a hash — it does not identify you or the computer to anyone else), the app version and the Windows version, once per machine. After activation the app does not connect to us again except to check for a newer version, which sends nothing about you. Nothing you look up is ever sent anywhere. We do not sell, share or use your address for marketing.
6. No warranty
Offline Quillar is provided as it is. We work to make it correct and reliable, but we do not promise it is free of errors, and the dictionaries reflect their publishers' scholarship, not ours. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from its use.
7. Ending the licence
We may revoke a key that is shared or misused; the app on machines already activated will keep working until reinstalled. You may stop using Quillar at any time by uninstalling it. Clauses 3, 5 and 6 survive.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
9. Changes
If we change these terms we will publish a new version here with a new number and date. A change never takes away rights you already have under the version you accepted.
